The DeKalb Hustlehogs are very excited to announce that they have signed Joe Crouch for the 2008 season. The Hogs will be vying for a spot in this year’s ISC 2 Tournament of Champions to be held August 10-13 in Appleton, Wisconsin.
Crouch rejoins the Hogs after a four year absence with the team. In that four year period Crouch pitched with Aurora Dolan and Murphy and Rockford Blackhawk AC. He has also spent two winters in New Zealand pitching. After taking the 2007 season off due to “dead arm,” Crouch pitched in February with Aurora at the Davenport Dome Tournament where he was 2-0 with over 26 strikeouts.
Joe Crouch is the all time Hog leader in wins and strikeouts.
Matt Smith, the Hogs manager closed the deal last week and feels that Crouch gives the Hogs a staff that will be very competitive all year.
The Hog’s organization feels this move will help the Hogs make some noise in the ISC 2 TOC. The strong Hog staff will now consist of Crouch, Brian Tobin and Tim Murphy.
A full roster with player bios will be available in the next couple of weeks.
