Razorbacks Drop Close Game

The Cortland Razorbacks (1-8) droppped a tough loss to the Sycamore All Stars on Tuesday by the score of 8-7.  Jay Armes (7IP 11H 7K 3BB) took the loss.  Armes went 3-4 at the plate, as did Drew Herrmann.  Armes also collected 3 RBI.  JJ Perez was 2×4 and Dan Shagrue was 2×4 with an RBI.

The Razorbacks are next in cation on Tuesday, the 24th when they take on the Hogs for one game at 630pm in Cortland.

Hogs Split In Yorkville League Action

The DeKalb Hogs moved to 11-8 on the season with a split in the Yorkville League. The Hogs next play on Thursday, June 19th with a DH’er against Mazon before traveling to Villa Grove for a tournament on Saturday.

Game 1

The Hogs jumped out early on HRM Properties with 8 runs in the first two innings. Five different players had a multi-hit game. Brian Tobin and Jay Armes split the pitching duties with Tobin picking up his 6th win of the season. Shaun Ebert (2×2 3RBI) and Brian Tobin (2×4 3 RBI) led the Hog offensive attack.

The Hogs were shut down by Czech Republic import, Jonas Mach in the second game 7-2. Brian Crouch was 2×3 with a double and triple for the Hogs. Tim Murphy took the loss.

Hogs Continue Winning Ways

The DeKalb Hogs improved to 10-7 winning 3 of 4 this week in Rockford and Yorkville league action. The Hogs have now won 7 of their last 9.

Game 1

Brian Tobin carries the hogs pitching the team to a win and added a HR and 5 RBI as well. Jay Armes continued to smashing the ball going 2×3. The Hogs won 7-3.

Game 2

The Hogs s came out and ended it early with 6 runs in the first 3 innings to win 7-3. Joe Crouch got the win. Drew, Virtue and Crtucher all had 2 hits a piece. Crutcher, Smith and Tom Crouch all had RBI hits.

Game 3

Hogs had their hitting shoes on and scored early and often banging out 12 hits and 9 runs in the 9-6 win over the DJ’s. Brian Crouch led the hit parade with 3 hits and 3 RBI. Matt Smith homered and had 2 hits. Joe Crouch picked up the save on Brian Tobin’s win.

Razorbacks Lose At RVC

The Cortland Razorbacks lost to the RVC Club team on Tuesday night in Rockford by a score of11-7.  Jay Armes took the loss only allowing 6 hits in the 8 inning game.  John Saterlee and Drew Herrmann led the offensive attack.  Saterlee was 3×4 with 2 RBI and Herrmann was 2×4 with 3 RBI.  The Razorbacks next play in the RVC wood bat tournament this Sunday at Rock Valley College.  Game times for the Razorbacks are 10, 2 & 4.
